Timetable changes of Railjet and EC Metropolitan trains from Prague to Austria, Slovakia and Hungary

Česká verze článku zde.

From Saturday, April 23, 2022, the timetable of long-distance trains of the Ex3 line from Prague via Brno to Břeclav and further to Austria, Slovakia and Hungary will be adjusted.

The reason are the continuing engineering works of the Railway Administration, mainly in the Poříčany Velim section on the Prague Kolín line. Passengers may kindly note that most of the railjet Vindobona and EC Metropolitan / Hungaria connections will leave earlier than the current timetable in the section Prague Main Station (Praha-Holešovice) – Břeclav.

In order to increase the punctuality of trains passing through the modernized section, Czech Railways (ČD), in agreement with foreign partner carriers and the Ministry of Transport of the Czech Republic, requested the Railway Administration to change the timetable of the Ex3 line trains. This will extend the train travel time, yet it will increase trains punctuality while running.

Most railjet and EC Metropolitan / Hungaria trains (with the exception of railjet 71, EC 271, 273 and 285 trains) will run on the Prague Main Station (Praha-Holešovice) Břeclav section earlier than currently scheduled. Trains will depart from the Prague Main Station and Prague-Holešovice station up to 19 minutes earlier. During the journey to Břeclav, the advance of individual connections will gradually decrease compared to the current timetable, and trains will continue from Břeclav to Vienna, Graz, Bratislava and Budapest at the usual times.

The Ex3 line connections will run according to the special timetable. The adjusted departure and arrival times are now included into the connection finder and the "Můj vlak" application. This measure will take effect on April 23, 2022, and will apply until at least August 31, 2022.

Passengers who have purchased tickets and reservations for the trains mentioned well in advance are kindly requested to check the exact departure time in order not to miss an earlier train departure.
