Premium and bonus services

There are many supplementary and premium services on ČD trains, and they are continually expanding. Give them a try!

Standard Offer

České dráhy trains generally offer passengers seating in an open-plan arrangement or in small compartments (usually for 6 or 8 passengers). For traveling, you can choose comfortable 1st class or standard 2nd class. 1st class usually differs by providing greater comfort for passengers, mainly with more spacious and comfortable seating, more legroom, and possibly additional equipment (e.g., individual lighting, electrical outlets), or premium services (e.g., refreshments). The quality parameters may vary between different vehicle series. Every train has a WC, which in some cars is supplemented by a separate washroom.

Traveling for the Handicapped

Some trains are adapted for wheelchair users, with special places reserved and adjusted WCs. Selected cars are equipped with a lift for easy boarding. Barrier-free trains (especially suburban ones) are also appreciated by mothers with strollers or older passengers.

Small Luggage

České dráhy trains also allow the transport of regular hand luggage, which can be placed on the shelf above the seat, under the seat, or in special racks near the entrance areas of the car.

Premium Service in 1st Class

In EC, IC, and Ex category trains listed in the Premium and Bonus Services list, we provide still water free of charge in the named sections of 1st class of these trains.

In 1st class of SC Pendolino trains, in addition to premium services, you get bonus services for free. Bonus services include a welcome drink in the form of Bohemia Sekt (alcoholic or non-alcoholic) and a simple snack of your choice, such as a sandwich, yogurt, couscous with roasted chicken, or other snacks as per the current offer. From beverages, passengers can choose a hot drink (coffee or tea). If you purchase a seat reservation 48 hours before the train departure, you can choose a small snack as part of the bonus services, and additionally, you have the option to order paid refreshments from the ČDRestaurant menu at a discounted price.

In 1st class of railjet trains, we provide a free bottle of bottled water, in Business class additionally a welcome drink, and on the territory of the Czech Republic also a voucher for refreshments from the restaurant section offer worth 50 CZK.

Luggage

In selected trains, you can travel with larger luggage (e.g., a bicycle). For such luggage, designated spaces are marked in the train. Loading and unloading of such luggage is always arranged by the passenger.

Refreshments

In selected trains, a dining car or bistro is included, offering hot or cold meals and cold and hot drinks. In dining cars, there are separate seating places for consuming meals like in a restaurant. This way, you can enjoy your train journey with, for example, lunch in the dining car. The bistro, on the other hand, is only equipped with bar counters. In some trains, refreshments are provided throughout the train by a mobile minibar, where you can purchase cold meals and cold and hot drinks directly from your seat.

Travelers with Children

For travelers with children up to 10 years old, separate seating places are usually reserved in long-distance trains, where these travelers have priority over others. Cars with such places are specially marked.

In trains operated by Pendolino, railjet, InterJet units, and Bmz229 cars in long-distance trains, you can make your journey with children more pleasant in the children's cinema.

Ladies' Compartment

Ladies' compartments are among the specific compartments that ČD offers in almost all EC and Ex category trains. These compartments, like for example quiet compartments, were introduced based on suggestions from our passengers. Ladies' compartments are always located in 2nd class cars near the service compartment and are more frequently checked by the train staff during the journey. They are intended only for children up to 10 years old, women, and girls, especially those traveling alone.

Quiet Compartment

In selected trains, you will find so-called quiet compartments. Passengers in the quiet compartment should turn off their mobile phone ringtones when boarding the train. If they need to make a phone call during the train journey, they should do so outside the quiet compartment, i.e., in the entrance part of the car or move to the next car. They should also refrain from any loud or disturbing behavior in this compartment.

Basic Rules in Quiet Compartments:

turn off mobile phone ringtones before boarding the train
do not make phone calls in the quiet compartment
do not disturb fellow passengers by listening to loud music (even through headphones)
use laptops, tablets, game consoles, etc., only with the sound turned off
refrain from loud conversations and other disturbing behavior during the journey, as well as when boarding and disembarking.

Additional Equipment

In new or modernized cars, you can use sockets or USB ports to power small electrical devices, e.g., a laptop, mobile phone. Thanks to the sockets, you can work or watch a movie on your portable computer without any problems even during a longer journey. Sockets are usually located under the seats or on the side wall of the car.

Night Trains

For comfortable night travel, we offer sleeping or couchette cars. When traveling by train, you can sleep undisturbed and wake up refreshed at your destination in the morning.

Car on the Train

In selected long-distance trains, you can load your car or motorcycle into special cars. When traveling to more distant destinations, you can bring your car or motorcycle with you. You will spend the train journey in a comfortable sleeping car (in night trains) or in a regular car with seats. After arriving at the destination, you can continue your journey refreshed in your car.

Service Car

The service car is a car where several special services are provided at once - for example, a combination of luggage storage during transport (transportation of luggage), ladies' compartment, and a compartment for travelers with children up to 10 years old.

WiFi

In selected trains, you can use the wireless internet connection service for free. In the timetable or in connection search engines, these trains are marked with a WiFi icon or the note "a car with wireless internet connection is planned to be included in the train." This icon is also shown in reservation plans for cars that are planned to be equipped with this service. However, this service is not guaranteed. Systems in vehicles use mobile operators' data services, and internet connection is limited by the availability of the mobile signal during the journey. WiFi may also not be available in case of a car rearrangement, i.e., the deployment of a car without this service.

For the service to work properly, you need to choose the ČD Wifi network. If you are not automatically connected or redirected to the ČD Wifi service's initial screen, you need to enter the URL address: www.cdwifi.cz. After the initial page is displayed, consent to the terms of use is required.

We support current versions of Chrome, Firefox, and Safari browsers and mobile browsers Safari for iOS 10.3.5 and higher and Chrome for Android 5 and higher.

Onboard Portal

In trains operated by Pendolino, railjet, InterPanter, and InterJet units, you can also use the onboard portal services for free. The onboard portal provides passengers with entertainment during the train journey in the form of movies, music, games, audiobooks, and at the same time provides information about the train journey and the localities through which the train passes.
