Transporting a pram or stroller as oversized luggage (under the passenger’s supervision)

A pram or stroller can be transported under the passenger’s supervision (as oversized luggage) on all of our trains, provided the train’s available capacity has not been exhausted. The transport of a pram or stroller for an accompanying child is free of charge and always has priority over other oversized luggage (e.g. bicycles) when boarding concurrently. Of course you can take the child out of the pram or stroller and have him or her with you in a seat aboard the train. For a pram or stroller transported without a child (you are merely transporting the pram or stroller and the child is not travelling with you), you will pay the price of a carriage fee for transporting luggage.

The passenger will always perform the loading and unloading of a pram or stroller transported as oversized luggage himself/herself, without assistance from ČD employees. The passenger is responsible for the safe handling of the pram or stroller and for its supervision for the duration of the transport. Carriages, boarding doors and spaces in carriages suitable for placing a pram or stroller are generally marked with a pram symbol or suitcase symbol.

Transporting a pram or stroller using the luggage storage during transport service (supervised by the conductor)

The service is provided on trains marked in the timetable with the symbol of a suitcase (or the symbol of a suitcase in a circle or frame). The suitcase symbol can also be found on the service carriage or compartment where prams, strollers and other items can be stored in this manner.

To transport a pram or stroller, you can, on selected trains, use the luggage storage during transport service, where the pram or stroller is transported under the conductor’s supervision in a marked carriage on the train. This service is operated on selected trains marked in the timetable with a suitcase symbol.

You will hand over the pram or stroller directly to the conductor in the marked carriage on the train. We recommend removing all easily detachable parts of the pram prior to handover for storage as we are not responsible for their loss or damage to them. After disembarking, you will retrieve your pram from a ČD employee right at the train. When transferring to a different train, the passenger must also secure the transfer of the pram to the next train himself/herself. The main advantage of the Luggage Storage During Transport service is that you need not attend to your pram during the journey (it is under the conductor’s supervision), nor need you find a seat near your pram. The service thus functions similarly to luggage storage at the station. Depositing a pram or stroller in the luggage storage during transport service is free of charge.

Price schedule for transporting oversized luggage

If you are transporting a pram or stroller with a child, transport is free of charge.

If you are transporting a pram or stroller without a child, e.g. as a new purchase, the following price schedule for luggage shall apply.

If you want to store oversized luggage with the conductor, you will pay him or her CZK 20 as a storage fee.
